Welcome to Grenfell CC – a competitive Sunday cricket club based in south-east London currently enjoying our 89th year! We pride ourselves on welcoming all abilities and valuing everyone’s contribution to the running of the club. We’re more than just a club; we’re a close-knit community with longstanding cricketing connections in the local region. Our club thrives on respecting everybody’s differences, no matter your age, experience, culture, or level of interest in the game. We play our home games at the exquisite Bromley Common cc, enjoy Surrey County cc membership that offers us exclusive opportunities to watch professional cricket and are proudly sponsored by SS Cricket. Cricket is a peculiar sport, it is both individual and team-orientated at the same time. You spend a lot of time on the field for that I’m proud to have called Grenfell CC my home for the last 15years, I still have so much to give in my playing career for the club and having one of the best home ground in Kent.

My first team captain Mr Simon Stevens was like a brother figure to me and how could I forget Mathew Stevens who supported me all the time . I met some wonderful people and made lifelong friends(Greg, Evans, Patel, Chishti, Jones, Chopra, Tom, Charan, and the list goes on).

Why Grenfell?

If variety is the spice of life, Grenfell is my spice rack.

When I turn up on a Sunday morning I know I will be greeted with warm welcomes from mates from a huge range of backgrounds and professions. From restaurant owners, and wealth managers to mechanics and social workers There is never a dull moment whilst waiting to bat.

The grounds and teams we play also show the rich tapestry of cricket. One week we will be at our beautiful home ground surrounded by woods, horse paddocks and a well-stocked bar. The next week we might be in Dulwich or somewhere else in South London surrounded by the buzz of urban life.

But what about the standard of cricket? In short mixed. Do we have some excellent players? Yes. Do we have some average players? Yes (me very much included). Do we want to win? Yes. Do we always win? No. Does everyone get a go? Yes. Do we have fun? Yes.
